Little Tokyo Market Place (formerly Mitsuwa & inside the Little Tokyo Galleria Mall)
333 S. Alameda Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013

We are pleased to be involved with the first 16mm film by Alyse Emdur and we cordially welcome you:

"Something Small" will be projected on location, at the Little Tokyo Market Place where it was filmed. It will also be simulcast on 27 flat screen TV's throughout the mall. "Something Small" explores the hopes, desires, and surprises of a supermarket sweepstakes in Los Angeles's Little Tokyo. The super 16mm film dives into the psychology of a character who fantasizes about winning the grand prize car, spinning into a direct-cinema documentary about the actual winner and the day of the supermarket's elaborate drawing ceremony. The film will be screened twice opening night.

Something Small was a film conceived, filmed, and screened on location within a neighborhood undergoing extreme flux and urbanization. We are helping out in a roundabout way.
